The Map is split into 3 sections. Troop K (Left Side of the map), Troop F(Right Side of the map), and Troop T(Thruway and Highways/ Major Roads) These Troops are then split into further Sections. Troop K has  Zones 1,2 and 3, while Troop F has Zone 1 and 2. Troop T just has no zones since they patrol only roadways. This is done to organize patrol squads. 

What units come from what Troop and zone are easy to identify by their callsigns. By department, policies are required to be displayed on their front and back license plate. New York State Police callsigns are formatted as such; The first number designates what the zone the unit is from 1 or 2. The letter then designates the troop. The last two numbers in the callsign are randomized. They will only brake this format if it is a member of the high supervisory staff or command staff.

For Example A unit with the callsign 1K01 would be from troop K Zone One (Paleto Bay Area )
